Applications now being accepted for upcoming pageants

The South Hill Junior Women’s Club is now accepting applications for the 2018 Junior Miss South Hill Scholarship Pageant and the 2018 Little Spring Pageant.
The pageants will be held at The Colonial Center on March 24.
The Little Spring Pageant will begin at 11 a.m. with the doors opening at 10:30 a.m. and the Junior Miss Pageant is set to begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
For anyone thinking about entering their child into either of the pageants, but still have a few questions the Junior Woman’s Club will be holding a Questions and Answers Session at Brian’s Steak House on Feb. 18 at 2 p.m.
Applicants for the Junior Miss pageant must be a junior or senior in high school with at least a 3.0 gpa on a 4.0 scale and must be a permanent resident in Virginia that resides in either Brunswick, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg or Nottoway county.
The young lady that earns the title of 2018 Jr. Miss will receive a scholarship in the amount of $2,500, first runner up will receive $1,000, second runner up will be given $750 and third runner up will win $500.
The awarded scholarships must be used at, and must be paid to an accredited institution of higher education and used within a 2-year period from the date awarded. The South Hill Junior Woman’s Club reserves the right to amend scholarship amounts, as it deems necessary.
For the Little Spring Pageant the categories that can be entered include: Little Mister South Hill (4 to 6 year olds), Petite Miss South Hill (4 to 6 year olds), Little Miss South Hill (7 to 9 year olds), Pre-Teen Miss South Hill (10 to 12 year olds) and Teen Miss South Hill (13 to 15 year olds).
