‘Armed and dangerous’ suspect still at large
Authorities continue to seek the whereabouts of a Boydton man, considered to be armed and dangerous, who is currently wanted by both Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office as well as South Hill Police Department for multiple warrants.
These warrants include three counts of Assault and Batter, two counts of Kidnapping and Abduction, one count of Burglary, one count of Robbery and one count of Failure to Appear, from Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, in addition to one count of Breaking and Entering, one count of Assault and one count of Robbery, from South Hill Police Department.
The suspect, Skylar Seward, 36, was involved in a breaking, entering and assault incident that occurred last Saturday morning in the 700 block of Lombardy St. in South Hill. Seward allegedly forced entry into the residence, assaulted a victim in the home and made off with her cell phone.
Seward fled the scene before escaping in a vehicle, which picked him up a short distance from where the crime occurred.
Authorities thought they had located Seward on Monday, near Circle Dr. in South Hill. South Hill officers engaged pursuit of the man, who immediately fled, however were unsuccessful in apprehending him or positively identifying him.
Authorities are still attempting to locate Seward, who is a black male, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 185 pounds. He is being considered armed and dangerous.
