Authorities investigate area larcenies
Local authorities are currently investigating several area larcenies, including a recent jewelry theft in the Chase City area and the theft of a golf cart from the Bracey area.
At the end of last week, Mecklenburg County Deputy Jennifer DeSantis responded to an address in the 1900 block of Country Club Drive in the Case City area for a report of a breaking and entering.
Upon meeting arriving on scene, DeSantis met with the victim who informed her that someone had broken into the house.
Investigation found forced entry into the house through a window.
The victim told police that various jewelry was missing from the home, following the break-in.
Items stolen include a seven-inch gold-colored nugget bracelet, a gold chain bracelet, two gold necklaces, a gold pinky ring and two watches.
In a separate matter, Mecklenburg County Deputy Calvin Jackson was called to an address in the Tanglewood subdivision in Bracey to investigate the theft of a golf cart.
Jackson responded to an address in the 200 block of Beechwood Drive and met with the victim who advised that some had cut the chain used to secure the golf cart and stolen the golf cart.
The stolen golf cart is described as a 2003 EZ GO golf cart, green in color with a white top and tan seats.
