Bodies identified, arrests made
Two arrests have been made following the identification of the two bodies found “lying on the ground” in the yard of a residence on Kinsley Talley Road on Saturday.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Kinsley Talley Rd. on Saturday night, about 9 p.m. and discovered the two subjects- one was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was transported to VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill with serious facial injuries. He was later transported to MCV in Richmond.
These two subjects have now been identified, although autopsy results on the deceased have not yet been released.
The victim pronounced dead at the scene has been identified as Lawrence Leon Thomas, 50, of Brodnax. The second victim has been identified as Timothy Hunt, 52, of Boydton.
Immediately following the discovery of the victims, Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Deputies secured the scene and notified the Criminal Investigation Division of the Sheriff’s Office. A homicide and malicious wounding investigation into the matter was launched and authorities have been working this case non-stop since.
On Monday night, deputies arrested Bruce Alexander Wright, 53, of South Hill in connection with this case. Wright has been charged with accessory to murder after the fact. He has been remanded to Meherrin River Regional Jail with no bond.
On Tuesday, authorities in Warren County, North Carolina arrested Jonathan Cornelius Seward, also in connection with this case, on a felony warrant for the malicious wounding of Timothy Hunt. Seward was taken into custody on Churchill Rd, in the Macon area of North Carolina and remanded to Warren County Jail.
The investigation is still ongoing and more charges will be forthcoming.
