Chase City store robbed at gunpoint

Police in Chase City are looking for three suspects who robbed the A Plus convenience store on 2nd Street in the early hours of Monday morning.
According to Chase City Police Sgt. Will Stembridge, the robbery took place around 1:45 a.m. after three subjects entered the store, produced a gun and demanded money. After holding the clerk at gunpoint, the three suspects left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
The Chase City Police Department was quickly notified, and officers Joseph Carey and Anthony DeSantis arrived on the scene in less than a minute.
Aided by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and a tracking dog from Halifax County, a search was undertaken by authorities but failed to turn up the suspects.
The suspects are described as follows:
The first subject is a black male between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a black hoodie covering his face, a pair of black basketball shorts, black and red socks and brown Timberland boots.
The second subject is a 6-foot tall black male. He was wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and dark colored shoes.
The third subject is black and is “possibly a male but could have been female,” said Sgt. Stembridge. “We’re not sure at this time. They had a small, slender build, about 5 feet, 5 inches; 100, 120 pounds at most. At the time of the robbery, she was wearing a black and gray or a black and white sweatshirt and jeans.”
Sgt. Stembridge reported that the store security system captured video of the three suspects and still photos will be released shortly.
