Fundraiser to support local resident after accident

The local community is pulling together once again to support a friend in need.

The family of Phillip Arrington Jr. is asking for help and hosting a fundraiser to raise money for Arrington and his wife Samantha.

Arrington was involved in a roofing accident on Aug. 7, leaving him injured.

“The tragic accident that my father had has impacted his life in so many ways, and he needs all the help he can get,” said his daughter, Jessica.

The fundraiser will be a stew and Boston butt sale held on Saturday, Oct. 1. Pick-up time will be from 10 a.m. to noon. The location of pick-up has not yet been determined.

Stew will be $7 per quart, and the butts will be $30 each.

Pre-orders should be made by Sept. 28 and can be placed by calling Katie Lawson at (434) 532-9525, Brenda Geedy at (434) 738-7906 or Jessica Williams at (434) 917-1602.

All proceeds will go directly to the Arringtons.

“He is such a great man and loves to be the one helping others. He has never had to receive any help so far,” Jessica said of her father. “This is all new to him, and he needs to know how many people love him and are willing to help him through this troubling time.”
