Grand jury indictments

Meeting on Monday, a Mecklenburg County Grand Jury handed down indictments in a number of cases throughout the area.

Thomas Junior Barnes, 35, was indicted on charges of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule 1 or Schedule II substance following an arrest in the Chase City area in May 2016.

Also in the Chase City area, Dianna Jannette Connelly, 44, was indicted for possessing a controlled substance, cocaine. The charges stem from a July 31 arrest.

Shawn Thomas Fountain, 27, has been indicted on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute following an arrest in Chase City in January 2016.

Harvey E. Jenkins III, 40, will face trial on several drug-related counts. Jenkins was indicted for possession with the intent to distribute more than one-half ounce but less than five pounds of marijuana. He was also indicted for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute after having been convicted on similar offenses.

The grand jury also handed down an indictment against Daniel Tyler Parrish for possession of cocaine.

Anita Louise Martin Humple, 45, was indicted for use of a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission.

Thomas Owen Mudd, 33, has been indicted for failure to stop for police following a March 8 incident.

Rodger Anderson Bohn Jr. was also indicted for failure to stop for police after a June 26 incident.

Also, George Marion Johnson Jr., 33, was indicted on charges of failure to stop for police for an incident that took place on Aug. 20.

Deonandre Hamlett Bradley, 19, was indicted for malicious wounding following an incident in the Chase City area on May 13.

Keonte Marquarn Hite, 19, has been indicted on charges related to an assault following an Aug. 4 incident.

Herman Willard Crawley Jr., 66, will stand trial after being indicted on charges of taking property worth less than $200 after having previously been convicted on two or more occasions of larceny. The charges stem from an incident that took place in the Chase City area on July 2.

Kevin Wayne Parker, 26, was indicted on three counts of shoplifting merchandise or goods from the South Hill Walmart during September of 2014.

Michael Gary Powell, 61, was indicted on charges of possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony.

Tanja Vaughan, 43, has been indicted on charges of passing bad checks stemming from a June 18 incident.
