Grand Jury meets

Meeting last week, a Mecklenburg Grand Jury has handed down a number of indictments on crimes committed in the area over the past few months.
Willie Austin Crump 19, has been indicted for the felonious wounding of Edward Kellum following an incident which took place in the South Hill area on January 26, of this year.
Ronald Gordon Huff, 49, was indicted last week for stealing property valued at $200 or more from Margaret Elizabeth Barbee. The theft allegedly took place on November 15, 2017 in the South Hill area.
Travis Wayne Bing, 25, has also been indicted on charges of theft. Bing will face trial for the theft of $200 or more from American Towers in the South Hill area between December 18 and December 28 of last year.
Charles Anderson Reekes, Jr., 30, was indicted for stealing property valued at $200 or more from Johnny Baisey in the South Hill area on December 28 of last year. He is also charged with the theft of goods valued at $200 or more from Barbara Davis.
Alberta D. Durham, 46, was indicted last week for possession of cocaine following an arrest in the South Hill area on December 15, 2017.
Michelle Antoinette Boyd, 19, has been indicted of charges of embezzlement of property valued at $200 or more from the South Hill Walmart. The charges stem from a February 8, 2018 incident.
Shawanda Lynn Malone, 40, has been indicted on charges of the theft of $200 or more in goods from the South Hill Walmart on February 17, 2018.
Kaeman Icenhour, 31, has also been indicted on charges of taking $200 or more in goods or merchandise from the South Hill Walmart. The charges stem from a February 21, incident.
Nicholas Lee Jones, 31, is facing charges of car theft after being indicted for the January 12, 2017 theft of a car from Curley Martin in the Chase City area. The car was valued at $200 or more.
Norman Roger Baker, Jr., 44, was indicted last week for failure to register or re-register with the Virginia State Police for placement on the Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minor Registry after having been previously convicted of a sexually violent offense and failing to register.
Lakisha Inell Saunders 35, has been indicted on charges of possession of a Schedule I or Schedule II drug, cocaine, on January 22.
Douglas Nelson, 46, has also been indicted on charges of possession of cocaine.
Melissa Faye Reyes, 35, is facing charges after being indicted for the attempted murder of Davis Cumbia on February 15, of this year.
J’Mar Lee Moore, 19, was indicted last week on charges of being part of a mob which caused the felonious wounding and theft of property from Z.O. between June 8, and July 6, of 2016. The charges come following a lengthy investigation by the Southside Regional Drug and Gang Task Force.
