It’s Oyster Shuckin’ time – again!

The Lake Gaston Volunteer Fire Department is preparing to host its annual Spring Oyster Roast fundraiser, slated for Saturday, March 31 from noon until 4 p.m.
The event will once again be held on the grounds of True Story Acres Farm, located at 612 Blackridge Road, between La Crosse and Bracey, near both Tanglewood Shores Golf Club and Rosemont of Virginia Winery.
Tickets for the event are $35 each and include a full menu of all-you-can-eat raw, steamed, or fried oysters, fried fish, hushpuppies and coleslaw, with beer or wine included.
Patrons will be able to watch their oysters being steamed right in front of them on custom-made steam tables. Those who chose fried oysters will also be able to observe their oysters being prepared as well.
There is only a limited number of tickets available for the annual event and it will sale out quickly, so get your tickets early through any Lake Gaston firefighter, or by calling Christy at (434) 917-2467, Wayne at (434) 917-3058 or Doug at (434) 917-0020. Tickets are also now available online, hassle-free, at lakegastonfire.com.
All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Lake Gaston Volunteer Fire Department.
