Mecklenburg County indictments
Meeting in Mecklenburg on Monday, the grand jury handed down indictments in several cases.
Garland Redd, 37, has been indicted in connection with a Dec. 8, 2016, break-in with the intent to commit larceny.
Wanda Bishop Townsend, 42, was indicted on charges of unlawfully stealing property valued at $200 or more from Walmart in South Hill.
Gabrielle D. Burns, 37, stands indicted on two charges of check fraud on checks in the South Hill area on or about Nov. 22, 2016.
Wilfred Keenon Clinton III, 22, will face charges of unlawfully and feloniously buying or receiving stolen property having a value of $200 or more, knowing the property was stolen. The incident took place in the South Hill area on Sept. 12, 2016.
Ramela Sakey, 20, was indicted for concealing or embezzling property having the value of $200 or more from Peebles in South Hill on Dec. 23, 2016.
Aleksey Seryy, 26, was indicted on a charge of possession with intent to distribute more than one half ounce but not more than five pounds of marijuana following an incident in the South Hill area on Dec. 7, 2016.
Tatyana Monet Blackwell, 26, was also indicted for possession with intent to distribute more than one half ounce but not more than five pounds of marijuana in the South Hill area on Dec. 10.
A grand jury indictment is not a finding of guilt but rather an indication sufficient evidence exists to proceed with prosecution.
