Medication thief apprehended

A Red Oak man has been arrested for stealing medication, following an incident that occurred on Trottinridge Road in the Chase City area recently.
Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an address in the 10000 block of Trottinridge Road on Tuesday after a resident reported a breaking and entering.
Corporal Scott Edmonds responded to the address and met with the victim, who advised that he had left the residence for three hours and returned to discover that the residence had been broken into and a bottle of prescription medication had been moved. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that pills were missing from the bottle.
The victim then informed authorities that he had a similar incident occur on Sunday, when he caught a man stealing his medication.
After investigation, authorities were able to make an arrest.
According to Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, Travis Jackson, 33, was arrested and transported to Meherrin River Regional Jail where he went before a magistrate then was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
