Monster Mash on the horizon

The South Hill Market Square Committee will present Monster Mash on Monday, Oct. 31, for Halloween.

The event will run from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Centennial Park, preceding trick-of-treating in the area.

This is a hugely popular event that draws hundreds of kids from around the area to a safe and fun environment.

Haunting and spooky music will be played by DJ Mark Kidd. There will be games, candy and a costume contest for children up to the age of 12 years old. Contest time will be 5:30 p.m. at the stage area. There is also an adult costume trophy that will be presented.

Food and beverages will be available from the South Hill Rotary Club and Light It Up Concessions. There will also be moonbounces, prizes, and more.

Robert Harris Photography will again be taking photos for a $10 donation to the South Hill Revitalization Committee.

The event is sponsored by J.A. Barker Construction, Rosemont of Virginia, South Hill Family Medicine, Benchmark Community Bank, South Hill Chamber of Commerce, Parker Oil & Propane, VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, Robert Harris Photography, Edmonds Printing Company, Lawrence Distributing, Vulcan Materials Company, South Hill Express Care & Car Wash, 3WD FM 107.7, Southside Mortgage Corporation, HH Forest Management, Biggs Construction, First Citizens Bank, Days Inn of South Hill, Watkins Insurance Agency, Rudd’s Creek Marina, Xtreme Signs & Graphics, Citizens Community Bank, US 98.3 and Shine 96.7 WSHV.
