Sheriff’s office arrests two for heroin

The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office has made a pair of heroin-related arrests in recent days.

On Sept. 2 at approximately 3:13 p.m., Dep. Tyler Duncan conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Esnon Road and Highway 92 for a brakelight being out.

At the completion of the traffic stop and receiving permission to search the vehicle, Duncan recovered 20 white packets which, when tested, tested positive for heroin. The street value was estimated to be $600.

Arrested and charged was Tiffany Dawn Ferrell, 27, of Cemetery Road, Chase City, She was charged with distribution of a Schedule II drug.

Ferrell was transported to Meherrin River Regional Jail and placed under a secured bond.

In a separate incident, on Sept. 14 at 5:49 p.m., Lt. Marlon Alexander conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 85 northbound at the 11-mile marker for speeding.

Upon checking the status of both driver and passenger it was learned that the female passenger was wanted for an outstanding felony warrant from Richmond. The vehicle was searched and a firearm was discovered.

The female was placed under arrest, and a search recovered a plastic bag containing a tan powdery substance which tested positive for heroin. The heroin had an estimated street value of $6,000.

Arrested was Ashley Jazmine Anderson, 24, of Richmond, for possession of Schedule II drug, possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II drug and the felony warrant from Richmond.

Anderson was transported to Meherrin River Regional Jail and placed under a secured bond.
