Survey part of improving internet in Mecklenburg

Internet access has gone from being a novelty to a necessity and there are parts of Mecklenburg County that have limited or no access to high speed service. Mecklenburg has announced that the county has partnered with The Center for Innovative Technology to conduct a survey of county residents regarding the broadband needs of our community.
The survey was created by the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) and once the data is complied, the county will decide on preparing a RFP (Request for Proposals) for vendors to provide service to areas that are currently unserved and to provide better service in areas where current service is slow.
The survey is available online at https://www.wired.virginia.gov/broadband/broadband-survey. Printed copies will also be available at local town offices for those who do not have access to the online option.
