Willie Crawley Scholarship established

Friends and family of Willie Crawley have honored his memory with the establishment of the Willie J. Crawley Memorial Scholarship.  In 1997, Willie joined the SVCC family as an instructor in the Truck Driver Training School, a position he held until declining health forced his retirement during late 2016. Willie passed away suddenly on June 29, 2017.
During his tenure, he helped to educate more than 2,000 professional truck drivers.  According to Duncan Quicke, Coordinator of the SVCC Truck Driver Training School, “He trained drivers the right way – the Willie Way.  While he was not an easy instructor, he was fair in his student dealings.  When he put his ‘stamp of approval’ on a student, the hiring company knew they were getting a qualified driver.”
The Willie J. Crawley Memorial Scholarship will assist with tuition expenses for individuals who might not otherwise be able to attend the Truck Driver Training School and take advantage of one of today’s most demanding professions.
