Woman indicted for assaulting police officers
An alleged assault on two Chase City police officers has resulted in indictments handed down against Crystal Renee Pullin, 25.
Pullin was indicted for assault against the two officers knowing that they were law enforcement officers engaged in the performance of their public duties.
The charges stem from an incident which took place in the Chase City area on Feb. 19.
Meanwhile, two juveniles have been indicted in Mecklenburg County for the Jan. 25 armed robbery of the Subway restaurant on E. Atlantic Street in South Hill.
Floyd Douglas Abdula Kenner Jr., 17, and Jeff M. Wardrick, 15, were indicted on Monday and will face charges for robbery and use of a firearm while committing a robbery.
According to reports released by the South Hill Police Department, the robbery occurred around 8:45 p.m. as two males entered the restaurant brandishing firearms and demanded cash. Only a few minutes later, police took one suspect into custody on Lombardy Street. The other suspect was taken into custody on Jan. 26.
A grand jury indictment is not a finding of guilt but rather an indication that sufficient evidence exists to proceed with prosecution.
Among other indictments handed down on Monday, Carlos Santonio Davis, 18, was indicted charges of being part of a mob which caused bodily injury to a male victim, use of a firearm, breaking into a residence while armed with deadly weapons, intent to commit larceny and the malicious wounding of the victim. The charges stem from an incident in the Chase City area on Jan. 9.
Two men have been indicted for selling cigarettes illegally. Pedro Pablo Ortiz, 50, and Eddys Joel Tejada, 38, were indicted for possession with intent to distribute 200 cartons of tax-paid cigarettes. The charges stem from an incident on Feb. 7. The incident was investigated by the Virginia State Police.
Charlene Ann Williams, 36, was indicted for shoplifting $200 or less in goods or merchandise from the CVS store in Chase City after being been previously convicted of similar offenses on at least two other occasions. The charges stem from a July 23, 2016, incident.
Naseem Kelante Barksdale, 17, was indicted on charges of being part of a mob that caused felonious and malicious bodily injury to a male subject in the Chase City area on Feb. 4.
Jennifer Nicole Coleman, 33, was indicted on charges of possession of cocaine following a Dec. 18 incident in the South Hill area.
Katie A. Bowling, 23, was indicted on charges of shoplifting from the Food Lion in Clarksville. The charges stem from a Jan. 31 incident.
Marcus O. Cheatham will face charges of possession or transport of a firearm after being convicted of a violent felony. Cheatham was indicted for the violation following a Feb. 10 incident in the Chase City area.
J’Mar Lee Moore, 19, was indicted for possession or transport of a firearm after being a person under the age of 29 who was adjudicated delinquent as a juvenile 14 years of age or older at the time of the offense of a delinquent act which would be a felony if committed by an adult or after previously being convicted of a violent felony if committed by an adult or after previously being convicted of a violent felony. The charges stem from a Jan. 14 incident in the Chase City area.
Also in the Chase City area, a car theft has led to an indictment lodged against Larry Paige Craig, 50. Craig was indicted for taking a vehicle worth $200 or more from a male subject without permission. The incident took place on Jan. 13.
